There are plenty of ways for your child to learn chess- you can teach your kid at home, they can learn from their friends, they can play in the tournaments and ofcourse, they can take professional coaching.
But which of the above of the best for your kid?
Like for any other particular skill, for chess too, coaching from the experts is the best possible way. Why? Well, you might have already tried to teach your child at home whatever chess you know. You might have also played several games with them. But why does it seem like you have reached an impasse after some games? Are the moves repetitive? Does it seem boring?
Well it is because you have already taught them everything you know and they have already learnt it well. But chess is a game with endless learning. Your child can keep getting better and better, there is no end to it. They might have learnt from their friends too, but that learning too at some point, will have ceased.
Your child might have also played in tournaments but is probably not able to win, even after enough practice.

This is where coaching plays an important role. Why is it  necessary for your kid to take coaching from the experts? To help answer this question, our team has put together 8 main reasons:
1. Helps your child get better constantly:-
Like it's mentioned before in the article, chess is a game of endless learning. There is always something more to learn even if it seems like you know a lot. This can happen only when your child is guided by the experts. The coaches will teach your child and help them not only teach their potential but also expand their potential.
2. It has a well constructed syllabus:
You cannot improve at playing chess just by playing chess. Does it sound odd? Well that's because puzzles are an important part of developing good chess skills. A well constructed syllabus will help your child understand various concepts in a much better way. Puzzles alo help your child in improving their cognitive skills.
3. Helps your child recognise wrong moves/blunders:
You may not be aware of this but there are some wrong moves that the coaches call 'blunders' in a game. These moves exist in every game and will quite often be made by your child without the proper training. The coaches not only help the children immediately understand the wrong moves but also help them make the right moves instead of it.
4. Finding the best move in every position:
In a given position there always exists good moves, better moves and the best moves. Good and better may be achieved by your child without help but not the best moves. To find the best moves in every position is only possible after intense training.
5. Helping your child think ahead in the game:
You might think that while playing chess one can only think of one move at a time. When the white plays something then the black plays something. One move each. Right? No. Good chess players at least think about 4-5 moves ahead. It is a precise calculation that comes with training. Thinking 4-5 moves for every possible move requires great training that is easily provided by people who have already mastered them.
6. Introduction to classic openings:-
Every game of chess is divided into opening, middle game and end game. And there are ofcourse some classic openings and the best moves to make in the opening would be missed if the openings are not already familiar. These openings are taught thoroughly. They are explained well so that your child knows why a certain move in a certain opening is the best.
7. Mastering end game:-
The end game consists of the final battle for the win. Did you know your child can still give checkmate to their opponent even with just a Queen/Rook? Yes. It is indeed possible. But ofcourse it will take eternity to figure this out on their own. But with a little help they can master the end game quickly and efficiently.
8. Playing better:-
All of the above points collectively help your child build confidence and thus play better in every game. The results will be seen when they play in the tournaments. And you can have all of this from the comfort of your home.
And much like life, chess is not about always winning, it is more about learning.
